CPU fan spins faster even if it is not much hot

Although my system is quite old , I have got a Intel’s Pentium 4 processor, even though my system is working very fine , but there is some issue with my CPU Fan , after logging onto the screen , my system’s CPU fan starts spinning too fast without the system even being too hot . I touched the heat sink and it was not that much hot . My processor is a 3 GHZ Pentium 4 Prescott, can anyone really tell me what can be the possible reason for this over performance of this fan moving issue.

Wait subsequent to it speeds up too fast, does it calm down again to usual once the whole thing is booted? If that happens then its usual. When you initiate up a motor on a low setting it can rupture. therefore why the majority of products with fans in them or some other motor will generally have the high setting set to primary subsequent to the off button. If your heatsink spins up to complete and then settles like that then you can modify the setting through application.

Well it is most unusual feature , have you , then you will have to do a bit of troubleshooting your self,You will have to reseat the processor first and once you have reaseated the heat sink you will have to reseat the heatsink as well , reseat the fan too , then once you have reseated the components I will ask you to reseat the components and then ask to reboot the system. But I will recommend you to be a bit careful on this.

well if I will recommend you to do this before instead of afterwards , something had to modify. I am not actually an specialist on this, expectantly somebody else can help better, but I will also recommend download an application called SPEEDFAN. I am quite sure you can control fan speeds in your system with that and can reduce your CPU fan speed. Either method, its nice to have it spin on utmost and cool your CPU then not spin at all and blaze out your CPU.

I too have the Pentium 4 processor as yours, and I faced the same problems as u do. So I started using Speed Fan and its really very helpful. Its been almost 6 months and no probs yet. But only thing u have to do is to let d fan run on its own speed for a while after startup (without SpeedFan), and then after some time get on with d Speed Fan. It will show u the Speed of d fan in RPM and many many other temp stats. By default the speeds r at 100% but u can set it at 75% to really reduce the noise. Mine at 75% shows fan speed of 3000 RPM. Well it keeps hovering in and around there.
