Intel Core i5-540M Processor vs Intel Core i5-520M Processor

I have seen two kind of processor yesterday i guess there should not be much difference in between these two processors. I am talking about an Intel Core i5-540M Processor and an Intel Core i5-520M Processor. There is only difference of i5-540M or i5-520M. I do not know what does it mean because of which i am posting this thread. Can you guys tell me an accurate difference between these processor.

Re: Intel Core i5-540M Processor vs Intel Core i5-520M Processor

The Core i5-540m is a 35 watt processor while the Core 2 Duo P8700 has a TDP of 25 watts. It is therefore not surprising that under Prime95, the Montevina platform consumes less than the new configuration Calpella (Please note that we achieved these results with the battery disconnected). the fact that Core i5-540m has completed the test 2'26 "ahead of its" ancestor "and we can finally make a start state to provide evidence on the record" consumption "for the first time Nehalem architecture successfully outperform the Core 2 in terms of overall consumption.

Re: Intel Core i5-540M Processor vs Intel Core i5-520M Processor

I have seen it on an official website of an Intel and they have mentioned that there is no big difference in the Intel Core i5-540M Processor & Intel Core i5-520M Processor. Only difference i found between these two was of Clock Speed and Maximum Turbo Frequency. i5-540M Processor gives frequency of 2.53 GHz and turbo frequency of 3.066 GHz. Clock Speed of i5-520M is 2.4 GHz and Max Turbo Frequency is 2.933 GHz.

Re: Intel Core i5-540M Processor vs Intel Core i5-520M Processor

The Intel Core i5-520M is a dual core CPU for laptops and clocks (due to the Turbo Mode) from 2.4 to 2.93 GHz. Each core is based on the Nehalem (Westemere) micro-architecture. Hyperthreading enables the Dual Core CPU to handle 4 threads at once (for a better usage of the pipeline). Compared to the faster Core i7-620M, the 520M features only 3 MB Level 3 Cache and a lower clock speed (CPU and GPU).

Re: Intel Core i5-540M Processor vs Intel Core i5-520M Processor

A feature of the new Core i5-520M is the incorporated graphics card named as GMA HD and memory controller. Both are on a split expire that is at a halt put on in 45nm whereas the CPU die is previously feigned in the new 32nm process. The production of the i5 520M is on regularly faster than a Core 2 Duo T9500 and because of the Turbo Boost, single threaded applications run even better. For that reason, the Core i5-520M is as speedy as high clocked Core 2 Duo CPUs and be supposed to handle most gaming and multimedia tasks well.
