Is there any fix yet for AMD Dual Core on MCE Windows 7

I was previously running Windows XP Media Center on my computer. On that I used to play Live TV. But usually I faced a lot of stuttering problems on that. After a lot of research and discussion with people I was finally suggested to download AMDCPUSetup.exe file which solved my problem. Now I have switched to Windows 7 MC and I am again back to the same stuttering problem while playing Live TV. But AMDCPUSetup is not working on this computer now. What should I do?

Did you tried enabling flow control on the NIC? Many gigabit switches doesn't include enough buffers to store the packets coming in from the server at gigabit speeds, so it basically just drop some packets. On the other hand you can even reduce the Windows 7 MC's NIC to 100BT in the drivers so that the 2 devices are talking at the same speed.

Is it a clean install or you just upgraded to Windows 7? Anyways, go to Start, then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound, and then click on Change power-saving options. Now set it to High Performance. By the way which ATI Catalyst drivers are you using? It has been observed that some ATI Catalyst drivers are also creating such kind of stuttering problems. If possible upgrade to the latest one and see if the problem persists.

I did a clean install from Windows CD. Recently I even discovered that when I move my card to another PCIe slot, I don't have the stuttering problem. But instead I have some noisy video. However there is no effect on my audio. I don't know what is happening over here and I really need your help.

There are couple of questions that need to discussed:
    • Can you see any Copying Prohibited overlay?
    • Is this happening only on Live TV, or also on recorded TV?
    • Is this happening only on premium channels, or on non-premium channels also?
    • Are you using Windows Media Center on an extender?
    • Also provide information about your system configuration.
    • Are you using a Set Top Box?
