upgrading motherboard help needed

The Striker-Extreme MoBo i bought three years ago has finally died, and overall sucked the entire time i used it, i was never confident in it's stability. Now I need something new and I'm having a bit of trouble finding something to replace it with, preferably without upgrading all my other components.

Any advice on what I should be looking for? I would rather get something less flashy and more stable this time around because I am not going to be tweaking. Advice on some upgrades would also be appreciated if my gear is just too obsolete.

Since you are using DDR2 memory then I dont think any reason for you to upgrade to a DDR3 memory supported motherboard. You can opt for Asus P5Q Deluxe, it is best bet for the buck. It has 2 pcie slots, 2 ethernet lan ports, and many more features. I am using it since last 2 years without any problem and I hope that you would also go for it as well.
