    ddr2 1066 pc8500 vs ddr2800 pc6400

I am new to the 1066 RAMs but i have noticed that the Cas latency timers are higher than on ddr2800. I am thinking about upgrading my system's performance. Can anybody tell me the CAS latencies for 1066 memory? Anyway, I just want to know that what is difference between ddr2 1066 pc8500 & ddr2800 pc6400.

I think 5-5-5-15 at 1066MHz would be good enough and i suggest you to buy the OCZ blade sets which requires lower voltage. According to the performance point of view, If you motherboard can handle the FSB1600 then it would be much more better. Now it depends on you that what you want to buy and why you want to buy it.

I would recommending the DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit which can run at the specified speed. If you are not looking forward to overclock your memory then you must use this one. And when it comes to run it at 1066mhz then i guess you must be knowing the bios very well. It might happen that you do not get the performance as per your expectations without doing some bios settings.

From my point of view, It depends on many other things as well other then CPU speed. It is possible that you can clock 1066 beyond 1066 but you just need to tweak some things such as performance level and timings.
There are only some of the 800mhz which can run at 1066 but others are just crap. Usually memory stick which are rated for 800 MHz at the CL5 would not be so well with 1066.

All the DDR2 RAM which which runs above the DDR2-800 pc 6400 are generally overclocked. Actually DDR2-800 is a standard where as others are not so. I do not have any idea about the bios which autodetects the DDR2-800 speeds.
Speed more then the DDR2-800 will be needing a RAM voltage increase in order to ensure stability. If your system is supporting for changing the RAM ratio then there will be a settings by which you can adjust the voltage.
