    Re: Replacing a processor

If you go for the technical specification of your Motherboard which is SIS 761GX + 968 chipset then the processors which supports your board is AMD Athlon 64x2, Athlon 64, Sempron processors, etc. So here you mother already supports the processor which you had mentioned. There is no need to BIOS update here. It is only recommend if you notice slow performance of your motherboard. BIOS can be updated from the official site.

Could you please tell us what are the "system related things" issues you are facing? Basically with the computer specs that you have in your sig, I wonder why you arent able to multi-task or just do some heavy "system related things" without any issues?

    Re: Replacing a processor

As you have not mentioned proper ailments or the application that is causing the issue I guess you may be facing the problem related to the operating system or some bug that is been appended and causing the problem. So scan the system well.
