    Re: Qx9650 vs Qx6850

The amount of second level cache for the QX9650 is a 12MB, against the Kentsfield also 8Mb cache of Yorkfield and type 24 way associative, while for the Kentsfield and the type is 16 way associative. Intel introduced a new set of instructions SSE4 which help to speed up video encoding, of course, if supported by the software, were also improved the energy saving features inside the cpu, but that should be supported the bios of the mainboard. Qx9650 consumes far less heat and is much easier to overclock.

    Re: Qx9650 vs Qx6850

In practice, the gain is variable with DivX Encoder 6.7 yet sensible take advantage of SSE4 and therefore show a big gain just faster to compress the video with the Penryn. The largest gains are in the active compression multimedia applications, except that neither LA nor Win Main Concept H.264 currently does not take advantage of the new instruction set. Divisions is twice faster with SSE Shuffle and therefore explain alone these significant gains. In games Qx9650 performance is also highly variable.
