Amd vs Intel ( Phenom Vs Dual core )

Specification for both of the processer are same , but amd is said to have better performance in gaming , so you should opt for amd , otherwise check which is one cheaper , by the way amd processer could not be that much expensive , recently i purchased one for my freind it cost me 5800 , it was phenom x4 (7 mb cache) , whereas a similar from intel cost around 8000

i got this processor From Lamington Road Mumbai , Actually i got this combo offer from the dealer , he sold processor + motherboard for around 8400 rs , the motherboard was from gigabyte company , it usually cost around 2500, so if you subract it , the cost of processer is around 5800 , you can use any compatible gigabyte board , i really dont remember the board name by myself

Dude please correct X3 720BE 2.8GHz not 3.8GHz.

Besides, these prices are way more high. U can easily get a X3 720BE for 7500/-

Try SMC @ Nehru Place
But i rather suggest u Phenom II X2 550 @3.1GHz for 5.5K paired with any 790GX board. This is a dual core processor but u can unlock the other 2 cores using a 790GX board turning it into a Quad core.

ya mate thanks ! Biostar TA790GX A2+ motherboard + Phemom II X 3 right i was hooked to until now , thanks for the suggestion it seems like a good option i think 550 has 8mb of total cache ! if i am not mistaken .. and as you said if it can be unlocked to quad then its awesome option .. 3.1 Ghz is a nice speed if i OC it then it would be a nice Combo ! the only thing is if it can be quad and somehow remains stable will have to c . well i am also planning to get v8 coolers for Oc ! i just wonder if it any good for hot Delhi weather ! ?

You definitely need some high power coolers... using the fourth core will get your processors to heat more then usual... Also get a nice and spacious cabinet... AMD processors are known for the heat it produces... So just be careful...

If you are an gamer then i would recommend you to go with AMD Phenom because everyone know that AMD processor are being famous for gaming PC and if you are using it for other purpose apart from gaming then go with Intel because in performance they have multitasking performance.

Tx , well i am just wondering why Intel has a name in the market and its so expensive comparatively with AMD ? so i am gonna loose on multitasking ? i want my PC for gaming , watching movies , Browsing mostly like that , planning to get a 24 inch TFT for experiencing the better picture until today i wanted a quad but it was over budget then this option came along Phenom II x2 550 ..so now i can save some money and put it on better card maybe a ATI 4850 cards !
