Can i upgrade Dell Dimension 2400 up to 2 Gb

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 laptop on which i had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. I want to upgrade the memory to the maximum but I'm having trouble finding out what the maximum for it? Is it possible for me to upgrade my Dell Dimension 2400 laptop up to 2 Gb? Kindly let me know your views on the above issue. Would be grateful to you if any body provides me the correct information on the above issue.

The latest motherboards are equipped with DDR2 or DDR memory. Dell's support site says that the maximum RAM for a Dimension 2400 is 2048 MB that means up to 2 Gb. Most laptops have a 1GB upper memory limit which I would imagine the Dell 2400 is so I would stick with what Dell say.

There are various types of random access memory. Yes. What you want to do is make sure you have the latest BIOS for your Dimension 2400. Update to the latest BIOS if you don't already have it. Then you can install your new RAM and make the most use of it.

I purchased a 1G memory stick for my 2400 desktop. Most laptops have a 1GB upper memory limit on it. I installed it in the main memory slot and put the 512MB stick in the secondary slot. The added memory would give your PC " speed" now.
