YES AB9 Pro has support for quad core .The AB9 Pro has 9 S-ATA ports and a 300 e-SATA port level inputs / outputs. Six of these ports are managed by the Intel ICH8R and support Matrix RAID and RAID 0/1/5/10 modes. Two S-ATA ports are managed by a JMicron JMB363 chip providing support RAID 0/1/0 +1 and JBOD. This is also the chip that runs the single P-ATA port on the card. Finally, a Silicon Image 3132 chip handles the ninth port S-ATA and the Port e-SATA. With 9 S-ATA ports, you'll come and see what we can even wonder if this is really useful.

The remaining functionality is still not entitled to because of Dual Gigabit LAN, Firewire (via the PCI bracket), 10 USB 2.0 ports (4 at the input / output and 2 on PCI bracket ), the 8-channel audio supported by 8 inputs / outputs including two optical. For against, no serial port or parallel port, not even at the ports of the internal map. Regarding the expansion slots, it was not Byzantium no longer with only 2 PCI slots, 2 PCI-Express X1 and PCI-Express X16. Not compatible with the Crossfire therefore some maps such as the P965 MSI P965 Platinum or Asus P5B Deluxe or the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6.

The menu's most important bios this is the first one on μGuru features. Behind this term lies everything related to Abit AB9 Pro overclocking and management of the fans. There are as such two sub-menus in the menu μGuru: OC Guru and ABIT EQ. The first key to overclocking. You can play with the FSB in steps of 1 MHz to 133 MHz and 600 with the multiplier. Then comes the N / B Strap CPU as that is an option to tell the MCH (Memory Controller Hub) to use the report in relation to the FSB of the processor. You can choose between PSB1066, PSB800 and PSB533. In practice, this allows for different memory ratios.but you need to upgrade its bios to latest on in order to work quad core like Q6600 work with Abit AB9 Pro

There is compatibility for Abit AB9 Pro with quad core is present but doent know how long they performance will not going to affect If you need 9 S-ATA ports and a pink colored bios, the AB9 Pro is the card you need, if not go other way, there is better elsewhere with the same price, even cheaper
