Better one Core i7 vs Q9450

i am looking for upgradation for my pc so i am came across core i7 and i like that but recently i saw performance of Q9450 so now confuse which one is better ?? please help me to make selection thank you.

i7 is a monster.. A good quad core setup on LGA775 board is a good according to me. To me the LGA 775 setups are still worth it,

while for gaming Crysis2, fallout3 Core i7 grab every thing that would make a difference?i Have just switched to OS Win7 and has great performance with it.

get better graphics card that will perform better with Q9450 as Core i7 is nothing but more costly currently.I think another problem with the Core i7 is that sometime next year Intel will release a new socket.

Intel, according to my knowledge is going to release a new socket for core i5 with dual channel ram, but core i7 will still remain as ultra high end with triple channel ram...
also i had read somewhere that the next 32nm 6 core processor will to fit in existing motherboards.... intel will release a better version of lga 1366, but new processors will run on old motherboards as well....

The lga 1366 platform is being criticized for high motherboard n ram costs, so intel is making sure that these costly motherboards n rams will not go to waste for their costumers...
