Asus P5K-VM supports Intel E8400 Processor

Does Asus P5K-VM support Intel E8400 Processor? I looked in the Asus CPU Support list and the listing of this processor was not there. I have already E8400 in spare and I am getting P5K-VM for cheap. If they can be compatible, then it will be good for me as Intel E8400 Processor is with the highest FSB 1333MHz.

The latest BIOS definately supports it if I'm reading the site correctly. ASUS site showing 602 is the latest. Not sure if there is an earlier version that supports the 8400 or not. You could send an email or post a question on their forums and find out.

Edit: Should be BIOS 602 and not 601.

Hmm, strange, you seem to be right! According to their "CPU support" page the new 0602 BIOS added support for the QX9650 (Quad core 45nm Penryn), but they make no mention of Exxx series.

Yes it was a pain for me as well, i had to switch back and fourth between an e2140 & an e8400 for the installation on my Abit Ip35-e. It also came without out of the box support for the 45nm penryn.
