Please check whether the RAM it has recognize properly? check any unnecessary processes running at the backend of your system, there are possibilities of such things, before upgrading to some more memory please confirm these issues, and if you still having those problem then you may upgrade to for higher memory, i don't think there will be any issues with your processor.

Memory is expandable up to a maximum of 1024 MB, employing 128/256/512-MB 64-bit Industry-standard PC-133 soDIMMs (Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Modules). The computer supports SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory).

Note: Be sure that you have run ScanDisk and Defrag before installing additional memory.

    Re: laptop query

Well, there be might some programs or tasks running due to which your laptop is processing slow....
Have you heard about Windows Registry !! - The windows registry is a central component to the windows system and it holds all of the windows applications, sort of like a large database. It is like the backbone of the whole system, and if you manually change something that you were not supposed to change, certain problems may rise that will cause your laptop to run slow.

You could go into the windows registry and fix the registry problems - There are programs that help you clean the windows registry on your laptop. These are called windows registry cleaners, and can be found and downloaded to your computer. Using one of these windows registry cleaners will tune up the windows registry and make your laptop run faster and more efficiently.

It can be slow becoz of many junk registries, and less useful software at startup. You should try some registry cleaners and edit the startup. If its too much slow then you should consider the clean installation of your OS.
