Intel X3100 Performance In Gaming

Hello , Can You tell me, What is the Performance of these chip with respest to gaming , Actually i am Purchasing and old laptop from my neighbour , he mostly uses it for application so he dont know much , but i would be using it play games , not the heavier one but still i would try to play decent game like fifa and counster strike and other games so can you tell me How good is the x3100 for games ? , and Can You tell me which Card is Better in performance compared to intel x3100 Thanks in Advance

hello , The GMA X3100 itself is theoretically a pretty formidable piece of technology, at least for an integrated graphics part. It is presently the only IGP to use the unified shaders specified by Microsoft for DirectX 10 support, featuring 8 scalar shading units that can process video, vertex, and texture operations. It's also the first part from Intel that supports texture and lighting in hardware. While it doesn't feature its own memory, it can address up to 384MB of system RAM for video memory, and it addresses the amount of RAM it uses dynamically to ensure maximum performance.

hello , The X3100 is not a gamers chip, not even a casual gamers chip, I highly discorouage anyone who wants to keep there sanity to not buy it, the performance is seriously all over the place, for instance Doom 3 runs better at the highest settings than the lowest settings. TnL Is half assed and the drivers are no-where near the level of ATI and nVidia.However, If you plan to play games from 2005/2006 and earlier it may do you good, but don't expect to much. If you intend to play WarCraft 3 or World of WarCraft wait for the next set of drivers or downgrade to the version which doesn't support TnL or Vertex Shading.
