    Problem with ASUS P6T Deluxe

I have recently acquired this (ASUS P6T Deluxe) good motherboard, and among other kit logitech Z5500. The worry is that I can plug into the ports of my motherboard coaxial cable and an optical cable, everything is detected correctly.

As against when I configure my z5500 on the coaxial or optical, I have sound but not all (some voices of a film are inaudible). As against when I branch out a direct everything works perfectly.

Looking more ready, in the device manager I have two of its drivers that I can not install. I ended up telling me that I may have to buy a sound card 'autonomous'.

In addition to the bios I set the onboard sound device on HD. I do not know what to do. Although digital output everything works well and the sound quality, but it annoys me on principle.

    Please help me on this!

When trying to install the SoundMAX drivers manually (from the installation CD) it tells me that the program is not compatible with OS! (it's xp sp3). I even tried to configure with AC3 filter to force the spdif output.

Hello, I just want you to clarify one point:

"The worry is that I can plug into the ports of my motherboard coaxial cable and an optical cable, everything is detected correctly."

What you use as a cable for this connection?
(just to see if it is a S/PDIF coaxial or an S/PDIF Optical)

    Best regards.

Regarding the cables, I have just two (the perspective is quite different from each other and do not branch on the same output for the coax that goes to the named output s/pdif and is orange. I view the output on a limb "specific" on the motherboard. Indeed the level of connections this should be good as with the Z5500 forum it automatically detects the source (direct, coax, optical)

I suppose you have the same motherboard and see what I mean (it is not easy to explain). That's why I look more for a driver problem or a configuration problem in the bios (there are so many things).

In all I hope it does not go through an update bios on the motherboard.

In fact with the optical or coaxial cable, your sound is handled directly by the z5500 and your sound card, so if you branch your cable jack SPDIF => Coax, you will benefit from the decoder DD/DTS integrated Z5500.

So if some sounds are bad (which seems odd given the price of the kit) is that the SoundMAX drivers are needed for digital.

So a possible solution: install SoundMAX.

The installation of SoundMAX did not even start. But I think I have found may be the solution (compared to what I said earlier on its HDMI):

"AMD has posted 9.3 version of the ATI Catalyst, which have the particularity to be unified between Windows Vista and Windows 7. On the menu of news, there is a better performance in Folding @ Home as well as in Lost Planet: Colonies (up to 20% on Radeon 4800 and 50% on Radeon 4600/4500/4300). Audio HDMI driver is now included in the Catalyst driver package. To download, visit this page! The Linux version of 9.3 for its part should see the day in a week. "
