Adopted by sometimes wacky concepts, some of which will never see the day as a commercial product, Asus will present at CeBIT, which opens Tuesday in Hanover March 3, a strange model of motherboard for now known under the code name "Marine Cool." "Marine," the meaning soldier: a designation that is often found in the world of cinema or video game science fiction, and for good reason: this motherboard futuristic design would include use of ceramic plates, expected to improve its cooling and confer resistance to twisting.
Unveiled by AnandTech, map Marine Cool "would be featuring in his back, a large ceramic plate, which would ensure the dissipation of heat generated by the various components that it loads. The top is on it with a cooling system more traditional, based on heat-pipes. This ATX format card, fitted with dual PCI-Express 16x would appeal to the memory modules SO-DIMM format usually reserved for laptops. Bet Asus will explain at CeBIT this surprising choice.
