    Q9550 or Q9650 for VISTA 64-bit

I intend to change my CPU, currently I have a E8500 overclocked to 4 GHz and 4GB RAM under VISTA 64-bit and ASUS P5Q PRO motherboard.

I hesitate between the Q9550 and Q9650 for overclocking. How can you expect whether the overclock is stable or not?

Keep your E8500, it is very well. Otherwise go for Q6600 because if you take the Q9650, you can not upgrade in S775.

I think the 9650 has little interest in the face since 9550 the small difference in perf stock. If the 2 processors are as good in October, this is not the lowest coefficient of 9550 is going to change much.

As against compared to Q6600, I think the 45nm, 12 MB cache and the biggest advantage is that it heats a lot less.

    Get a Q9550 ... I changed my E8400@4.2ghz for a Q9550 @ 4GHz frankly I am not disappointed. At least I have the time to see happen core i7 @ 32nm.
