ECS announces first AM3 motherboard for Phenom II

After publishing the lists of old motherboards compatible with AM3 processors, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) today unveils a first motherboard with a socket AM3, the A790GXM-AD3. It therefore supports AMD Phenom II and their controllers DDR3 RAM, expected for the month of January 2009.

After the Black Series range, this motherboard is based on the AMD 790GX chipset associated with the SB750 southbridge and an integrated graphics chip ATI Radeon HD 3300. It has four locations hosting the DDR3 up to 1 333 MHz and two PCI Express to 16 lines that support CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFire. The usual connectivity, including a dozen USB ports, six Serial ATA connectors, Gigabit Ethernet port and inputs and analog audio outputs are present in more than VGA video outputs and HDMI.

The price and date of availability of this A790GXM ECS-AD3 were not disclosed.

It seems a little poor as motherboard. Faced with the new card X58 I would say it has something to blush.

At least I think that the platform will be much cheaper than X58 ... See the performance, if it beats as promised Core 2 architecture, it will be good.
