Problem witn Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor

Hi

I am having Problem witn Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor. I tried to upload a screen shot but couldn't find any place to upload it. It occurs with the icons on my desktop, or even when I simply click the start menu. When the menu comes up to the right of the menu there is a sort of shadow or streak going across the screen. Its especially prevalent with lettering that is solid black or white. Is this what is known as streaking?
I know its not a burn in, or marks on my monitor. I've also tried fiddling with the colors and contrast, and I updated my video card drivers none of which did a thing. I've searched google, but since I don't know what this problem is called, I haven't had much luck finding anything.

Do you have any ideas?

To eliminate monitor or video card is connect another monitor to your computer, if it still does it, the problem is more likely video card.

I connected another monitor as you instructed and found that it was having no problems. I re-connected the original problem monitor, and the issue was gone!

I can't really find anything about this on google... has anyone else ever had a problem like this before?

What resolution are you runing?

The resolution is 1680 x 1050, the color is set to 32 bit though, and the only other option is 16.

Have you set it at 16bit to see if the problem goes away?
