u can go for geforce 6200 ........supports pixel shading 3 and very good performance in direct x 9 games..................however 256 mb may cost around 5500/-
geforce 5770 le comes around 4500 (256mb) but this is a fx series card and features are quite disapointin ........performance is overall crappy but can be overclocked to play the current games acceptably but chokes in games like far cry, doom 3....
fx 5200 is not recommended as it is even a more pathetic specimen.......
regarding ati cards................i m not sure of the prices but you can choose from 9550 or 9600 ..........9800 still costs above 5k

Do Not Go For 6200 With Turbo Cache..................it Costs A Lot Less But Overall Is Waste Of Money As It Shares System Memory For The Graphics...............

Well he is asking for PCI gfx card and not PCIE. A geforce FX 5200 is your best bet, but thats a hopeless card. Get a new comp

@cult_of_cobalt : From what you have told, geforce 6200 (256 mb) at Rs.5500/- seems like a very good option. Its soo nice to hear the new approximate rates.

What would 6600 plain 256 mb cost roughly ? My budget is around 6-8k and I'm looking for the AGP version (not PCI or PCIE). If the price of 6600 GT 256mb falls a tad bit more, i'll be able to afford it.

Thanks a million for the update.

Somebody please confirm the prices. They sound too good to be true.
