New Comparison of VGA cards at Tom's

There is a comparison of all the mainstream video cards at Tom's Hardware:
    http://graphics.tomshardware.com/gra...004/index.html

What's up with the Radeon 9600XT? A 9500Pro is beating it in many benchmarks including Aquamark and Doom3. And what is this DTM Race driver 2 benchmark? It shows that a 9500 Pro is better than 6800GT and Ultra!- Confusing

It is a good card for its price, but a Radeon 9600 non pro would be a better choice. I dont know why Techtree is comparing the Radeon 9550 to 6800 ultra and X800 XT. They should have compared it to FX 5700 and Radeon 9600 series.

I don't know what this guy is trying to prove. The only PCI Express cards from NV that are good are the 6800U, 6800GT and 6600GT. The vanilla 6600 gets owned by the X700 non pro. The 6200 cards fare no better either. The GeForce PCX cards are almost laughable. Infact the PCX cards are clocked much lower than the AGP counterparts. The PCX5900 is clocked at 350 core, 550 memory compared to the 390 core, 700 memory of the AGP version. Considering the bad performance of the FX cards, the PCX would probably be horrid.

i wanted to play new games like far cry in at least 800x600 resolution with good fps. which card should i buy. i don't ant to spend a lot. till now my intel extreme 2 was enough for playing mp2, igi2 etc. but pop and far cry do need a gfx card. any suggestions. the more lower is the price the better it is for me.

Hmm a Radeon 9550 ( non se) or a Radeon 9600 (non se) would suffice and will be able to handle all the games with ease.
