There is a comparison of all the mainstream video cards at Tom's Hardware:

What's up with the Radeon 9600XT? A 9500Pro is beating it in many benchmarks including Aquamark and Doom3. And what is this DTM Race driver 2 benchmark? It shows that a 9500 Pro is better than 6800GT and Ultra!- Confusing

Check out the review of a Radeon 9550 -

It is a good card for its price, but a Radeon 9600 non pro would be a better choice. I dont know why Techtree is comparing the Radeon 9550 to 6800 ultra and X800 XT. They should have compared it to FX 5700 and Radeon 9600 series.
nvidia beats ati very comfortably in pci express series all major oems going with nv rather then ati, n u can check all tht at all international links if wanna know more mail will get u links. bcoz if im gonna put it here moderator gonna alter it , bcoz he is ati fan but unfortunately he never triend any pciexpress bcoz they dont hv mbd to test tht , so they tell the old story wht they feel

x700 pro has do come with 256mb GDDR3 that runs at 820mhz.
I don't know what this guy is trying to prove. The only PCI Express cards from NV that are good are the 6800U, 6800GT and 6600GT. The vanilla 6600 gets owned by the X700 non pro. The 6200 cards fare no better either. The GeForce PCX cards are almost laughable. Infact the PCX cards are clocked much lower than the AGP counterparts. The PCX5900 is clocked at 350 core, 550 memory compared to the 390 core, 700 memory of the AGP version. Considering the bad performance of the FX cards, the PCX would probably be horrid.

hey but the 6600GT is better than any card in the R410 series.
Yup it is, but the vanilla X700 is better than the vanilla 6600.Originally Posted by nikhilesh

the 6600 GT is no worth the price Nvidia is killing its own product with lowering 6800 non ultra prices?
i wanted to play new games like far cry in at least 800x600 resolution with good fps. which card should i buy. i don't ant to spend a lot. till now my intel extreme 2 was enough for playing mp2, igi2 etc. but pop and far cry do need a gfx card. any suggestions. the more lower is the price the better it is for me.
also is gfx necessary to play gta 3 vice city?
Hmm a Radeon 9550 ( non se) or a Radeon 9600 (non se) would suffice and will be able to handle all the games with ease.
