budget video card for Photoshop CS6

I am looking to purchase a best budget video card for Photoshop CS6 only. I am using an unbranded power supply that is 550W. Anyways I am looking to buy either HD 7770 or HD 6670 with a corsair 450w power supply. I dont intend to play games with any one of this cards but I will use it only for editing in Photoshop CS6. So can anyone tell me if this components would be good enough? Thanks

I dont think any video card is much utilized for the photoshop work, CPU and RAM are more than enough for Photoshop work. But for CS6, which has a huge amount of features, then you can go with any basic Nvidia or Amd graphics card. Even if you have a Intel HD graphics onboard then it will be more than enough to run the Photoshop CS6 software.

Either of the cards you listed will work fine for Photoshop...though you may not necessarily need one, if you have decent onboard graphics. With that having been said, I'm not a gamer but I use a discreet Video card; just in case.

Even I agree that graphics card are not going to help doing anything in Photoshop since the cards are used for gaming purposes only. If you have a decent CPU with more than 4gb of RAM and fast hard drive RPM speed with ample of storage then you are just above its requirements. But anyhow, if you wish to use any graphics card then go with the HD 7770 one.

Check the below Photoshop CS6/Photoshop Extended CS6 System Requirements:

    • Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64 processor
    • Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or Windows 7 with Service Pack 1
    • 1GB of RAM
    • 1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash-based storage devices)
    • 1024×768 (1280×800 recommended) resolution display with 16-bit color and 256MB (512MB for Extended) of VRAM
    • OpenGL 2.0-capable system
    • DVD-ROM drive

I am using a Quad Core processor with 4gb of RAM and an Intel HD 3000 graphics without any issues and Photoshop CS6 runs pretty fast on my system.
