HD 7990 vs GTX 780

I want to buy a graphics card that can come in my budget and can also play the latest next generation game on ultra settings. There are 2 video cards that are coming in my budget but I cannot decide between both, those are GTX 780 and HD 7990. I dont know what does PhysX do since it is not there in Amd card, so is it really important? Thanks.

I woud say if you were using Nvidia card previously then go with teh GTX 780 because you get the extra PhysX and CUDA acceleration in different applications as well. Also, you wont have to install the new amd driver on your machine with the new card but just have to upgrade the drivers of nvidia to a newer version as per the model you will use.

The PhysX technology isnt worth any penny. There is no doubt that the HD 7990 is the fastest card compared to GTX 780. If you plan to go with 2 GTX 780 in SLI then only you will get more FPS out of it in comparison. The main problem with the HD 7990 is that it is very power hungry and you will need a good power supply of atleast 750W, other than that it destroys every other graphics card in the market.

I would suggest you to go with the GTX 780 graphics card. The main problem with the HD 7990 is that it is overpriced and gtx 780 is just only 4%-5% less powerful than a Titan model card and also it is very less compared to any Titan graphics card. As mentioned above, you will have to spend more on a PSU for HD 7990 which is worthless.
