Radeon HD 7970 vs Geforce GTX 670

I am looking to upgrade my computer build that I have with me right now. I know that there are many graphics card in the market available and after some research I have narrowed down to go for either AMD Radeon 7970 or NVIDIA Geforce GTX 670 graphics card. I want to use only 1 monitor on the 1080 pixel. I will try to test the highest resolutions but the exact resolution that I want to use would be for gaming in 1080p. So, could anyone tell me which among the 2 video cards should I be buying for myself? Thank you

Both the graphics card that you have listed are very good and if you want to play with PhysX for all the time then go with Nvidia or else the HD 7970 will be a good choice as well. Also, you might be knowing that Nvidia supports the tessellation in the very best manners. So, my choice here would be to go with the GTX 670 video card.

I have just changed my graphics card to nVidia after using some good old AMD graphics card, and although I would like to stay with the 670 card, but if given chance to go back to AMD with the next generation then I would rather do that. The features of Amd cards are rather much exciting than the nvidia cards that are lacking it.

I would like to tell you that GT 670 is easily beated back by HD 7970 card. The thing is that, HD 7970 should be compared with the GT 680 and not the GT 670 cards. Also, if you only want to play games on your pc and dont want to do any 3D work that needs CUDA cores, then you can simply choose the HD 7970 video card all the way.
