AirPlay is appearing to be intermittent on Apple TV / iOS after updates.

I am having a home network with some devices like Apple TV, 2 MacBook Pro's and some iphone’s as well and I was not having any issue in getting them work and even AirPlay was working great but then I don’t know what went wrong with the same after 10/12/11 - Update to iOS 5 and now the AirPlay is appearing to be intermittent, the only thing that has been helping me out here is Restarting Apple TV but then I just wanted to know if there is any solution to fix this issue permanently??

I have been running in to the same issue after these upgrades and I have found that the AirPlay of video does not work in the background after the upgrade, I don’t know why my iPad 2 locks itself when I just move away with the app that is streaming to the TV and the Apple TV stops playing video, I had not faced this issue previously and it had just happened after the iOS update, if anyone find out a solution for the same then please post it here, it will be highly appreciated.

I was facing the same issue where AirPlay was intermittent on Apple TV and it used to work some time for the first time and sometimes not but then I made the below changes and then the issue was solved:
Settings > Audio & Video > Audio Output > set to 16 bit (if set to Auto).
I am not having any issues with the same now, so if you want then you can try it out and see if it is helping.
