AMD Radeon HD 7970 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 580

I like to play the games on PC. I am wondering that which graphic card will be the best for me to play the games like battlefield 3. I am thinking to get AMD Radeon HD 7970 or GeForce GTX 580 but cannot decide which one is the best for me. So I thought to get some suggestion from you people. If someone of you is have any suggestion/information about these cards then please let me know that. I will be thankful to all the replies for this.

You have not ngive n the specification for your computer. What is the resolution on which you are plying the game? If you are playing the game on 1080p and your computer specification is low then I can say that it will be just waste to get the GeForce GTX 580. But yes, if you are playing at the high resolution and also your computer specifications are high then you can surely go for the GeForce GTX 580 and you will get the best performance from that without any problem.

I don’t know about the AMD Radeon HD 7970 but I am using the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 and it is giving me good performance with the battlefield 3. This is my best experience with the video cards that I have used upto now.

In m suggestion, it will be better for you if you can go for the Radeon HD 7970 card. The Radeon HD 7970 follows the format of the Radeon HD 6970. This is having double slot and 27.5cm long. The cooling system is similar but there are slightly changes as the turbine has blades longer and this is in order to increase the flow of air. Other than this the steam room block / radiator is extended from 1.5cm to the connector. The tip is then very close to the extraction grid of hot air which is also adapted to cover the entire height of a PCI slot. HDMI to DVI adapter is provided with cards. AMD dropped the plate that covered the back of the Radeon HD 6970 2 GB 6950 and cover design that covers the cooling system.

As far as I know that Nvidia makes better driver as compared to any other one. So my suggestion to you is to go with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580. This is going to be the best option for you.

The new Radeon HD 7970 includes compatibility with DirectX 11.1. The chip itself is made up 4.31 billion transistors, so 160 percent of the circuits were in the Cayman GPU. AMD can have much more complex design in a just 365mm. Anyways; better choice for you is the Radeon HD 7970. In the end the choice depends on your need and specification of the computer on which you are going to use it.

GeForce GTX 580 is the fasted ingle-GPU video card and good for gaming. Other than this it also overcome the disadvantage of the GTX 480 which was suffering from overheating issue.

AMD introduced the Radoen HD 7970 with new technologies as AMD PowerTune ZeroCore to balance high performance with efficient energy consumption. According to AMD, this card merely consumes 3W in sleep, if we compare this with the Radeon HD 6970 then we find that 6970 consumes about 24W and there is a big diff in that. If you are energy efficient and want card with better performance then you can get Radoen HD 7970.

Both the cards are almost the same but I would recommend you the AMD Radeon HD 7970. This is not because it is better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 but because, I have used it and I can ensure the performance of this card. I have not used the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 and so cannot comment on that.
