It seems that NVIDIA has made at the outset that the new GeForce 290.53 beta drivers who come to see the day are especially optimized for the video game The Elder Scrolls V. Performance gains of up to 25% with a graphics card type GeForce GTX 560 (19x10 Ultra mode and indoor scenes) can be observed compared to version 290.36. Gains are also visible in this same game in the outdoor scenes, but in amounts much smaller (only 2-3%).

You must get the 290.36. New 3D Vision and SLI profiles have been added for many games. Bugs with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 have also been fixed as a problem with the resolution and frequency default panel configuration of drivers 290.36 beta.

Since the launch of the new microprocessors Intel Sandy Bridge-E , released mid last month with motherboards based on Intel X79 chipset, some users discovered an incompatibility between the chipset and SLI mode internal "unofficial" some dual-video card custom GPU as the EVGA Geforce GTX 560 Ti 2Win . Because of this incompatibility Nvidia drivers not recognized the Internal SLI these video cards, making only 1 of the 2 GPUs installed could be used. Several sites from which we have at PC Perspective is contacted Nvidia for this problem, which informed them that it was a software problem that would meet soon.

Since I installed the latest Nvidia driver 290.53 for my GTX560 Ti, the game stutters badly. So naturally I reinstalled the old driver 285.62, but nothing works, always a jerk problem: it is completely unplayable, while the game was perfectly smooth before!

Nvidia announced that they have already solved the problem and published the new driver Nvidia GeForce / ION 290.53, which will allow dual GPU video cards based on unofficial solutions can be fully recognized in motherboards based on Intel X79 chipset . Know if the new driver will bring another improvement apart from correcting this problem, but we assume it will also bring some performance improvements for your GeForce GPUs. We will keep you informed.

As far as I know that these new drivers are primarily dedicated to improving performance with the game The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. Thus we speak of an increase of almost 20% with a GeForce GTX 560 Ultra mode with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 compared to previous drivers. There is even talk of a performance increase of around 25% in SLI mode
