Should I get GeForce GT 520?

I like to play games on my computer and I like to play them on low res (720p) and with the medium settings. I play the games like skyrim. I am thinking to get the GeForce GT 520. I know that this card is very low end card but I really want to know that how good is this and if this is able to give me fare performance with the game . If you have some experience with this card then please let me know this. I will be thankful to all the replies for this.

I would like to tell you that the GeForce GT 520 is not for gaming. I will never get that card if I want to play games on my computer. My recommendation to you is to make use of the Radeon 6570 and you will surely get the performance boost with the games. This is the best that I can recommend you.

The GeForce GT 520 GPU is based on the GF119, with only 48 shader units and a 64-bit memory controller enjoys little similarities with the first Fermi member. The chip is clocked at 810 MHz, the shader units that do their work at 1620 MHz. Default is 1 GB of DDR3 memory, running at 900 MHz or 1800 MHz effective. Connections are present in the form of both D-Sub, DVI and HDMI.

Gainward is also completed with a passively cooled solution consisting of a large aluminum block like ASUS. The speed of the chip is what you expect, but 1 GB of memory is a very modest 533 MHz clocks, 1,066 MHz effective. Nice detail is the connection for a fan is still present, so that the desired creative yet what could tinker with a ventilator. GeForce GT 520 comes with two video cards on the market: an actively cooled and passively cooled. The latter seems very similar to that of Gainward, while the actively cooled version is limited to a minimum in terms of cooling. Both cards differ only in terms of memory speed, which is 535 MHz (1070 MHz effective) on the reference card.

Roughly, the GeForce GT 520 is a low-cost version of the GeForce GT 420 reserved for OEMs. While the latter was based on a GPU GF108 neutered, with half of its processing units disabled, the GeForce GT 520 features a new ultra low-end GPU, the GF119. It has 48 processing units and a 64-bit memory bus.

Re: Should I get GeForce GT 520?

As compared to the GeForce GT 420, GeForce GT 520 takes advantage of computing power increased by 16% but a memory bandwidth halved by switching to a bus of 64 bits. Overall it should be less than the GeForce GT 420 or even the GeForce GT 220.
