Sony Bravia HD TV-Nvidia Geforce 9500GT-Inspiron Desktop 580

Hey guys,

I recently bought a Sony 40inch LCD TV. I connected an HDMI cable from the Sony tv to the HDMI port that is present on the Inspiron Desktop 580.(Not on the Nvida Geforce card)

However, when I do that, nothing happens, I can't see my computer on the tv. All it says it that there "is another display not detected."

My Nvidia drivers are up to date and the HDMI cable is practically new. I'm stumped, any ideas guys?

Have you tried the below setting in your desktop sound output to HDMI ?

(On your operating system it is Start-->Control Panel-->Hardware and Sound-->Sound-->Playback tab....set to HDMI)
