Fps unstable in ATI sapphire HD6870

I have been getting unstable fps ever since I got the new ATI sapphire HD6870 toxic GPU. It ran fine for a few days until I updated the drivers. When I was I was uninstalling the older drivers, suddenly a blue screen came and it restarted. Since then I’m getting fps issues. The fps drops from 61 to 30 fps in League pf Lengends game. In all other games too, same thing happens.
I have updated the drivers, downgraded them, ran memory test, Checked Temps also. The only thing I could notice wrong was if i had a fps spike my cpu spiked a bit something like 26-30%, but I’m guessing that’s normal. So what could be the problem with it?

You didn’t have problems with the old drivers right? So, you should just roll back to the old drivers. The latest ATI driver of 11.8 is giving problems to many people witrh artifacts and stuttering. What is your specs?

Thankyou for the reply, My PC specs are :
    • Asus Crosshair IV formula
    • Amd x6 1090t black edition (at 3.7ghz and 37 c.)
    • Corsair dominator 2000 mhz RAM 8 gig
    • ATI Sapphire HD 6870 1024mb toxic
    • Huntkey 750watt PSU
    • 1 TB Seagate HD

I am using 10.10 driver version that comes with the CD. Also, with the old driver the screen froze with like a orange or gray screen with hash or lines in between.

It may be a hardware issue as the video scrambling is a symptopm of video card dying or damaged. Gray screens with light or dark gray horizontal lines also appear due to bad drivers in the ATI, I had similar problems with my 5870. But orange screen is associated with a vrm going bad. To solve this use Gpu-z and check the temperature of your gpu, maybe overheating due to fans.. So Vrm may cause the FPU issues.

Thankyou for your replies guys, it was a case of bad video card. I replaced it with my spare graphics card, and now everything runs smoothly. Though still fps is less, but its not dropping like before.
