Is graphics card important for photos and 2D graphic design?

Hello friends I have a question about the graphic card usage, the thing is I know that when we are doing the 3D designing and the gaming we need a good graphic card but I want to know that is graphic card memory been used in access while making 2d designing or viewing the photos? Please suggest me something about all this, I want to know and want some help for this so that I can judge do I have to go for the graphic card with high memory or no so please help me?

Hey I don’t think that the 2d and the photo viewing would be actually asking you to have a high graphic card and even this would be differing from the brand of the processor you are having as I know that the AMD processor has some inbuilt graphic card over it and it is enough in many cases which helps you work out with the normal 2d and images viewing and all and many time it supports many games to and now if you are using intel processor it doesn’t provides you with any amount of inbuilt graphic card and all so you need some but not high for the 2d and image viewing I think 512 would be Ok try it out this would make it more smooth that’s it and even if you don’t have I don’t think there would be any problem.

I would like to talk with my personal experience about this so if the GPU uses Photoshop and it helps to have a powerful, but more than Photoshop CS. Photoshop is great and highly optimized. In fact, other programs are the problem, illustrator benefits of a powerful GPU when doing illustrations are very complex and large documents in design displays photos faster. You cannot use the full power of the GPU, but I can say that does not help much. However, you need a lot of RAM and a fast RAID disk or SSD. I know people think that 2D graphics are not as intense static but in a computer file s to create very complex and benefiting from a modern computer with a good GPU.

Well, I would start by saying that if you have flat screen digital DVI connection, the visual difference between a good level costing and will be largely academic, with admiration to the application of 2D CS3 . In earlier letters, the quality of ATI and Matrox were favored by designers because analog filter were superior to the competition card. OSX rule blurs the video card a bit as the OS itself is something like a video game in terms of OpenGL GPU presentation. That would be faster, better GPU with more memory actually improves the performance of OSX user interface changes. There's definitely a point of diminishing returns, though. Fund is that modern high-performance GPUs are designed, mostly, to accelerate the video game API such as OpenGL, Direct3D, DirectX, Desktop applications are not affected.

Ok so many times Major credit cards Graphics exceed 2D application needs a long time. Most of the things that Photoshop will be slow are the result of tasks from the CPU and RAM intensive-no display problems. Photoshop frequently use the 3D look of the video card to make confident change, but many photographers and designers do not even use of specific filters in the first place. When loading a huge image in Photoshop, not you’re VRAM - only the screen does. When you apply a lens blur filter, is its main CPU is doing the entire complex mathematics specialist, not a generic video card GPU. Even when zoomed in image is not a case of enlargement of the graphics card in a window - which is what happens when you use Exposé, so the text is blurred in these cases - but by its own interpolation software.

So using Photoshop GPU seems to be mostly limited to some elements in 3D. Aperture is an all through the history. It was designed and built from scratch to take advantage of OS X's basic services, including access to the GPU for rendering. This actually makes more sense for the opening of what would Photoshop, and Aperture is often the display and the scale of hundreds of images at once. And yet, the overall performance of Aperture, to date there has been spectacular - especially compared to Lightroom. This only shows that while these applications can benefit in some way access for some GPU, not make a big difference when it comes to meat and potatoes of the central purpose of the software.

No I don’t think I graphic card would be actually needed by them they would be working fine on the normal processor to I would only tell you try to use an AMD processor which would be providing you bit of a graphic card inbuilt and if not that you can have a small amount of a graphic card just for a support and get you problem solved I don’t think that practically 2D and image viewing would be needed with graphic card of high amount sometime some software’s are very heavy on pc while running and for these software’s you need a good Ram support that’s it.

Thanks guys for the information the information really helped me out of this and i was bit of confused that i dint knew weather what my friends said was true or not but i was thinking the same that for these 2d and the photo viewing it must not be asking for the graphic card with high memory, and this was making me get confused a lot because i dint knew why he was saying such stuffs and i thought he must be having some point in that but anyways your views had made them clear and now i am bit relaxed and use my softwares with no hesitation.
