Is Monitor's 1920x1200 resolution supported by nvidia FX 5200?

I am having Dell Dimension 8300 desktop computer and I have just got the nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphic cad and I usually use DVI port output and watch the videos over my TV. I am having windows XP operating system. I want to know whether this graphic card support the 1920 x 1200 resolution in the monitor. Right now I am having the monitor with 1680x1200resolution. So please let me know about this soon. Thank you in advance.

I have heard that the resolution that this graphic card could provide is 1600x1200. It is the maximum that it can support. You would be able to use this on your monitor as you mentioned that it is having somewhat around 1680x1200. So install this graphic card on your computer and then easily have a maximum resolution and enjoy its graphics and also use the DVI port and connect it to TV and it would give the same resolution on your TV, if it has that compatibility.

I have one friend who recently talked with me that he is using 1960x1080 resolution on the BenQ LCD monitor which he has. He told something that he use DVI-D and therefore he is able to have that much resolution. I don’t have much idea on it. I believe Nvidia has several errors in their specifications with this card because when you attempt to make use of this card on any OS, and while trying to use the Native monitor resolution of a 24inch widescreen LCD then it just won’t let further more resolution than 1600x900.

When you try to use this graphic card on your computer than you would be able provided with the default resolution by the operating system itself. If you want then you could change the settings of resolution and then have the appropriate one. In your case you can do so by going through the nvidia control panel, note that you would have this if you have installed the drivers of it. Thus after going to it, just change the resolution as you want.

I would let you know the exact problem which I am having. I was using this graphic card for my computer and I have just bought the new monitor which is having 1920x1200 resolution, so when I installed the monitor as well as graphic card then I started my computer and I was able to see BIOS screen then windows loaded and afterwards the screen went blank. So I thought that the graphic card might not be able to support the resolution of the monitor.

This might have happened because I feel that your computer is missing the DRIVERS which are needed here in this case and thus you are receiving the blank screen. So I would suggest you to switch back to the old monitor and then update the drivers for the graphic card. After you install the drivers then try connecting the computer with new monitor and let me know if that in reality this solution helped in your state here.

I have heard that in order to have that resolution you need to have appropriate cable for your monitor. If you make use of DVI-D cable then I think that you should get the needed resolution using it. These cables are actually well for making the displays to the resolution that you are talking about and I think that it is the thing that you should look at first. Also there is possibility that DVI-D can support the resolution higher than 1920x1200. Please let me know if this is true because I am not much sure about it.
