Problem with laptop and a BenQ

Hi.. I have a Asus G73 SW 120 hertz laptop.. I also have a BenQ
I tried to hook the BenQ up to my laptop with a Hdmi cable and i was hoping i could get 120 hertz on my BenQ.. That ONLY happens when i have 1024 * 768 resolution.. On the max res i can only choose 60 hertz.-.- Anyone know why this is?

I would suggest your to check whether your Asus G73 SW laptop is compatible with your BenQ product or not. it might be possible that both must be having some kind off compatibility issue or whether your laptop is meeting up the hardware requirement or not. Try using another HDMI cable and check out if you are able to solve the issue. The refresh rate of your laptop is 60Hz, so i would suggest you to change it. But that can consume lots of your laptop resource and increase the chances of degrading your laptops performance. Go to the display property to change the refresh rate.

the refresh rate of my laptop is not 60.. its a 3D 120 hertz laptop.. just so weird that i get a refresh rate of 120 on my benq ONLY with 1024 * 768

Monitor do not support that high refresh rate on many high resolutions and as you mention 120Hz that is very high for almost all 3D Vision So you can just split the frame rate.
