Are the newly released graphic cards : AMD Radeon HD 6950 and 6970 best for gaming than any other card ?

Today my question is regarding the new graphic card being released by the AMD , I am talking about the Radeon HD 6950 and 6970 released , If you type the name and search the images in the internet , you will notice a tiny micro-switch near the two CrossfireX connectors. The R6900 cards now contain single firmware flashable dual-BIOS and there is one (non flashable) default BIOS, with a switch that enables you to choose BIOS 1 or 2. But I am not pretty sure that they will be the best suitable graphic cards till date now , do you think he NVidia card makers can still upbeat this new releases , please post your ideas on this question.

If talking about those two micro switch AMD implemented those most probably to stop the RMA rate. The makers know very well that the enthusiast community frequently re-flash their cards, often failed after which they enter a very costly RMA procedure at AMD's cost. It's definitely a good thing to have on any video card actually and we definitely welcome the implementation.

So actually from the above this feature is a little bit of a guaranteed and assured . However for the actual tweakers it's an benefit. You will get the chance to overclock and over-volt the product based on a fixed set of favorites of your choice, flash it into the BIOS and with the flick of a switch you can have either a performance or default BIOS at your services. But as far as your question was concerned I think Nvidia are far ahead from Radeon.

The reviews regarding those graphic cards are mixed bug as per the its official site. In a few games such as Battle Field Bad Company, DIRT the performance is equal to HD 5870 while in other games like Anno 3D, Crysis it performed superbly. However, it seems like than the focal objective for HD 69XX series was GTX 480 as GTX580 is a clear success in all the situations . But problems like temperature power consumption and Idle power l in full load these cards are difficult to overcome beat.

6970 is no match for the powerful gtx 580 in all levels and even the gtx 570 wins it in a few resolutions and perform some what near to that . Same goes for the 6950 as well which is not that faraway from its newer version . But amd has enhanced over its cypress design incorporating a VLIW4 model against VLIW5 i.e having the extraordinary function alu as amd alleges it to be needless. Lastly where amd do extremely well is in better cf scaling which see's two 6950's trump two gtx 570 (slightly although). But that is because of 6950's large frame buffer and better drivers. Except nvidia to defend with its own driver optimizations.
