    Dell Inspiron 1525 computer black/white screen problem

    I’m a college student and running a computer classes. A two days back I left a usb cable from my iPhone plugged into my dell inspiron 1525 computer with windows xp and turned my computer off. When I turned on my computer back, usb cable was still plugged in and my computer now goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left hand corner. I don’t understand why this happen, can you please tell me what is the cause of this problem and how to resolve this. please help me to resolve this problem.

    This problem occur some time in dell inspiron 1525. You have to follow something to resolve your problem.
    1. Remove the USB cable.
    2. Unplug the power cord.
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Hold the power button for 60 seconds
    5. Connect the power supply, then try to switch ON the laptop and later put the battery back into the laptop. Try to do this if not resolved visit to your service center.

    This problem occur mostly in dell inspiron 1525 computer. You can resolve this problem by following some steps:
    1) When you switch ON your computer, start tapping the "F8" key to get
    "Windows Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears, press "Esc" key and keep
    tapping the F8 key)
    2) Select "Safe Mode"
    3) Go to Control Panel -> Backup and Restore -> Recover system settings or your computer -> Open System Restore -> follow the wizard to restore the system to the state before the issue occurred.
    If this does’nt work for you than try to remove RAM and follow the instructions carefully:
    Remove the power adapter --> Battery --> Also remove the RAM ---> Turn your laptop upside down --> Hold the power button for 5 mins to remove static electricity --> Leave the laptop for 30 mins ---> Later put the RAM back into the slot properly --> Plug the AC adapter --> Switch ON your laptop. When the desktop appears --> Go to control panel --> power option --> There you can find the option "When I close the lid", select the option "Do Nothing" from the drop-down menu --> Click on OK --> Shutdown. Now check your laptop if you are able to on the laptop again without any problem. If not resolve visit to service center.

    Normally this types of problem are occurred in dell laptop. This problem would better solve by dell support service, but you may follow this simple steps that may help you.
    1) Using Windows recovery Environment for System Restore
    - Insert Microsoft Windows Vista installation disc
    - choose boot from CD or DVD…
    - choose language, time and currency, keyboard or input method and click NEXT
    - Choose “Repair Your Computer”
    - In the “System Recovery Options”, locate drive where Windows has been installed and
    choose “Next”.
    - In The System Recovery Options, choose “System Restore”.
    - Follow System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and restore point.
    - Click Finish and restore system.

    2) Startup Repair Notebook Using Windows Recovery Environment
    - Boot from CD ROM
    - Choose “Repair Your Computer”
    - In the System Restore Options, locate drive where Windows has installed
    - In the System Recovery Options click Repair your computer
    - Click Next and in the System Recovery Options dialog box and choose “Startup Repair”. Try this it may help you.

    If your dell inspiron 1525 showing blank screen with cursor and your ‘system restore’ does’nt work than your file are probably corrupted and you need to reinstall windows xp. Follow the steps:
    1. Turn your comp off
    2. Press the start button and tap F8 until the black screen with writing is up
    Your on the System recovery options page
    1. Command Prompts
    2. A black screen will come up with a bit of writing in it
    3. Type in Notepad
    4. Note pad will appear
    5. File
    6. Open
    7. Computer
    8. Look in
    9. OS (C) Drive
    10. Users
    11. Your name will appear
    12. Click on your name
    13. Documents
    14. *Copy all your documents you want to save in a pen drive* by right click copy, and paste into your pen drive.
    15. Close pages once copied all documents.
    You are now back on the System recovery options page
    1. Click on ‘Dell factory Image Restore’ the last option
    2. Next
    3. *warning * will appear
    4. Accept, click next
    5. *reformatting hard drive*
    6. *Restoring factory image*
    7. Finish
    8. The screen will go blank again
    Window Vista Home Premium will appear
    1. Select your country, time, currency and keyboard layout
    2. Next
    3. Accept, next
    4. Fill in questions asked, next
    5. Next
    6. *help protect windows automatically* will appear
    7. Click first option (recommended)
    8. Set time etc
    9. Start
    10. Windows will run (takes a few mins)
    11. Log in as normal
    12. *preparing your desktop* will appear
    13. Support Software- accept conditions
    14. Finish
    15. It will set your personal settings
    16. Set up your internet
    17. YOUR DONE!!!!!!!!!
    Try this steps your problem will be solved.

    If your screen turn black then remove the usb cable and try to restart your computer, if nothing happen then try this steps:
    1. Remove the USB cable.
    2. Unplug the power cord.
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Hold the power button for 60 seconds Connect the power supply, then try to switch ON the laptop. If this does’nt work try to do this:
    5. hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, if task manager pops up click on the Applications tab then New Task, in the box type in Explorer.exe> hit enter. If not appear then you will need a system recovery disk.
