I am looking to upgrade my graphics and sound card. I will be using for regular home usage and playing games.

Well, am not so advance in hardware section but still would like to assist you little bit. There are some discussion threads available, that i guess could help you to choose graphic card for your laptop. Just have a look: Better graphics card for Compaq Presario 6000 .
