Advantage of 2048 x 1152 over 1920 x 1080?

I am thinking to assemble my Personal Computer. I have Dell with a 21.5" monitor and having resolution of 1920 x 1080 for my Personal Computer, I liked it very much when I saw the movie on it. I want to go with more than that resolution, as I am thinking to choose the 2048 x 1152. Is it will cause any problem if I increase my resolution and I want to know is there any advantage over the higher resolution?

It actually depends on what you are going to perform with the monitor. If you are like to run applications, the high resolution will make a difference. You can see slightly more advantage is pretty minimal. If you are using 2048x1152 screens on 1920x1080 then it will need to be re sized. Because of that it will slight blurring and take a lot of CPU usage for resizing

I have gone through your question I think is when you try to make high resolution of than it have then that movie needs to be stretched out to fit on the screen and have to mix up a few of the pixels around and merge parts of them into adjoining elements. All of typical monitor having the scaler is not all that much great and it will likely become unclear.

I think always having a high resolution is better, its gives the smoother image when you have high resolution on a small screen compared to TV. Similar in games unless you run them at 2048 x 1152 in which case they will seems good you cannot experience the gaming. But when LCD monitor runs at its maximum resolution having resolution 2048 x 1152 for watching 1080p videos then monitor reduces the video quality.

When you keep the high resolution more than native resolution then you almost don’t have can not make out the differences. You can be able to set movies to both stretched or have black bars which are due to the more resolution. Advantage of having 2048x1152 resolution that is you have 2 1024 resolutions which are opened at once.
