ATI Southern Islands information

Well I do not who are the one who are spreading the rumors regarding the ATI Southern Islands GPU. With the earlier time I heard that ATI Southern Islands GPU is going to be announced in the month of September and for sale they will be in the market from early October. Now I have started to hear that they have delayed the products and they will be announcing them in October and will be in the market from the month of November. Is there anyone here who can please tell me the exact date for this?

Much confusion is going on with the dates of release of the ATI Southern Islands GPU. I have even found the same thing here in my case as well. I have however heard that they are not at all planning to come with this product in the 2010 year. They have decided to launch it in the next year. The reason for this many are saying is lack of competition in the market. ATI will launch this only when there will be a product which will compete their existing product. Let them come up with the dates themselves.

Yes it is true; actually ATI is waiting for a tough competition. I have heard that they will be launching this thing only when NVIDIA will come out with the DX11. They have already mentioned that this product of there will hold no bar in the race. However whichever GPU may it be I think a healthy competition is necessary, so that the prices of the products are maintained. I think we will have to wait for the official dates from their side.

I do not know much about the release, but according to the post of June 9, that I read, ATI Southern Islands GPU is yet expected yet in 2010. According to the post Southern Islands is still on track for a 2010 release. As I already said that it was the post which was of month June, and yes the dates may move from here to there. Has anyone here have the exact dates of release of the dates of this cards.

Well I think for the official dates from I think some officials should come in front for the announcement. I have learned from various places and I have found that they are going to release the product in the month of November, 2010. No further dates beyond this one have been out, so I think that they will finally come up with this soon. I am sure that they will realize that there is no point in delaying.

I would totally disagree with you xanix this time and agree with what OS-X-10+ is saying. If there is some technology that you have and you know that this one is a hit, but if you are able to get more money from the previous one and you know that the counterpart (for ATI suppose NVIDIA) is ready to make it flop then this would be the correct time to bring in the new technology. Actually we cannot come up with the exact dates; they are the one to decide this.

OK, I have come here with the dates from the officials of ATI. In a post of August that I have seen it has been said that they are going to release the product soon and they have mentioned that they are not in any competition with any other Graphic Card Company. They will be releasing it soon in the month of October and at the most at the end of November. So I think that this is something official.

I think that I need to end this now; it is totally on their wish when they want to release the card. Also it depends on the requirement of the market. It depends on the need of the technology that all are using at that moment. Also to all of you let me tell you all that it is totally a business related policy and there is nothing technical related to these dates. They will release the product when the time will be right. Till then I would suggest you to keep patience.

By the way thank you all of you here who have contributed with their thoughts in this thread. Well I was aware that this is not technical thing but I just wanted to have a discussion on the dates of this card. I thought it would be nice to get the dates from someone here, but I think that I will have to wait for the official dates of release of the products. I hope that the card gets released in time.
