I have a Radeon x1950xtx GPU that was HOTT in it's day. It's still pretty adequate today, but the price has dropped alot. I was thinking it would be cheap to change MOBO's to one that had 2 PCI-E 16's so I could crossfire my x1950xtx with another. MOBO plus 2nd GPU would be about $100-150
Now my question is this. Most MOBO's with SLI now are PCI-E 2.0 If I use one of those will I be able to use my x1950xtx which was from the PCI-E 1,0 generation? All the backwards compatible info I see says the new 2.0 CARDS are usable on old 1.0 MOBO's.... does anyone know if it also works the other way? Old GPU new MOBO?
Thanx!
