Radeon HD 4870 vs GTX 460

I have recently purchased a new desktop computer which has a Asus p965 motherboard. And it runs on Intel core 2 duo processor. I was trying to install games like Battle field 2 Bad company. But it does not looks like working. I am looking for some help to play games here. For that I have to buy a graphic card and I am having two models in my mind. The first one among them is Radeon HD 4870 and the second one is GTX 460 gpu. I am confused between this two. As far as I had checked review I am unable to figure out the best one between them. I need a card that can play all kind of games.

The Radeon HD 4870 is a popular card and it comes in various versions. I am quiet sure you can get more price changes in Radeon HD 4870. But when we talk about GeForce GTX 460 then here we are dealing with a new chip. Nvidia is good when it comes to stability and long lasting output. And ATi is good when you are looking for a better graphic output. I think you can start with one which is cheaper. Because both the cards are great. It is not worth spending high amount if your graphic requirements in average.

Here clear winner is GeForce GTX 460 1GB. This card is more powerful compared to Radeon HD 4870 1GB. I found a benchmarking report on the web that tells more about GeForce GTX 460. This card can give you lag free output and high end gaming solution. You can play a lot of games on this. And if you are getting the next card a bit cheaper then you will also have to play games on low fps. That is the exact difference. The graphic memory of GeForce GTX 460 1GB is quiet more powerful compare to ATi.
