ATI Catalyst 9.2 won't let me Install driver or Control Center!

Please help my computer is giving a really weird error. I have an ATI HD4870 graphic card installed on the computer. I am trying to upgrade ATI catalyst from version 9.2 to the latest version but it is not letting me to upgrade it. Every time I start the upgrade procedure , the ATI Catalyst 9.2 won't let me Install drivers or Control Center . Why I am facing such problem? Is this some virus issue?

The installer which you are using must be corrupt and hence you are not able to install the drivers or the catalyst control center. The installer file of the ATI catalyst can get corrupt due to many reasons. If the Internet connectivity fluctuates during the downloading of the files, the contents of the installer can get corrupt. Hence I will suggest that download another copy installer and try to upgrade the version of ATI catalyst control.

Try removing the earlier version of ATI catalyst control from the computer and then try to install the latest version on the computer. Sometimes the earlier version of the application may create problem while upgrading the application. Hence remove the ATI catalyst 9.12 from your computer and then check if you are able to install the latest version of the application on the computer or not.

I suspect a virus problem here. As the installed application is not allowing you to update the drivers, it is possible that it is infected with some kind of virus. Therefore I would suggest that you get the system scanned by an updated antivirus and check all the files which are infected. Repair or quarantine the files which are infected and check if you are able to update the application or not.
