The Ultimate Showdown: 5850 vs 5870

Hello, I have installed windows 7 operating system on my computer and i am planning to buy a new graphic cards. I have seen an Ati 5850 and 5870. But still getting confused about it. Can you guys help me to select between both of these. Or you may just give me as much possible information about both of it so that i can select for any one.

I think ATI Radeon 5870 would be bit faster then the ATI Radeon 5850. But i do not think that there would be much noticeable difference as these both the cards would have made by considering them at the same level but as 5870 would be having bit more power, It will run faster. You may choose for 5850 as well as it is not going to make any big difference.

I have just bought a new Ati 5870 on last monday and trying it for some around 1 week and have found that there is no need to worry about playing at 8 x aa and 16x af as there was no lagging or anything else while playing the crisis. Even i have tried with the Gta4, far cry 2, flashpoint 2, arma 2 and no game was having anything wrong with the maximum settings.

As you can see that 5870 and 5850 are from the same ATI Radeon 5000 series, then they must not be much different from each other but i guess they have made it in order to get the perfect frames per seconds as 5870 would be running faster then the 5850 which means that 5870 would be giving more perfect fps.

Form my point of view you should buy an ati's gpu which would be cheaper for you as both Ati 5850 and Ati 5870 are almost same according to work power but i guess there must be noticeable difference between the price of these both the GPUs. You would be able to find out the price tag for both as there would be different prices according to the offers and many other conditions.
