5770 in a quad crossfire setup

I have seen plenty of benchmarks on 3x 5770 additional than no 4x crossfire setups. My motherboard has 4 pci articulate slots so I might do 4 x 5770, I am presently wondering if it would be comparable to a 5970. Or is the CPU such a big bottleneck that it would not work. I have a 955 Phenom 2 @ 4 Ghz.

In the majority cases there is extremely diminutive development from working four 5770s in excess of three 5770s, due to poorer scaling when adding the fourth card and a lack of hold up for quad fire in most games. Even though your mobo has 4 pcie slots, what speed determine to they work at when you hook up the entire four cards. If it the entire drops down to 4x. Then there no point as the loss in presentation from the entire cards working at 4x determine to negate the presentation development in excess of working three cards. If it drops down to 8x, then the development be supposed to still be notable, assuming your CPU is not bottlenecking it (a quad fire setup might be too much for a phenom).at the present prices, it would almost certainly be cheaper to immediately run 2x5850s as an alternative of four 5770s.

Your motherboard is the MSI 790FX-GD70 when in crossfire x2 together pcie are 16x and when its quad fire you consider the entire pcie slots go to 8x speed. Is 4ghz not adequate or sufficient for 4 cards. You have to be familiar with price wise it would not be the smartest but that not completely your worry its additional I desire to put this apparatus in a quad fire setup but I do not know how a 5770 x4 setup would do. The several additional interested in seeing a benchmark of it.

It’s not the problem of scaling here, scaling is attractive respectable in crossfirex. But the phenom might bottleneck it. It's a physically powerful CPU, but even i7s are bottlenecking the 5xxx sequence in crossfire how high have you taken your CPU previous to. It may necessitate so much to the point where you are burning out your CPU. As long as you are playing the games in higher declaration, you would not notice a enormous bottleneck.

Seeing how no one has posted a point of reference of it, I might immediately go for it and post a point of reference so that the information in sequence is able to be in conclusion out there. In addition I am on preparation on doing eye affinity with 3 23" monitors so a declaration of 5760 x 1080. I am familiar with the working 4 of these for a customary declaration of 1080p would be pointless. Anyone inadequate to observe this point of reference. According to you what must be the speed do you think a processor would necessitate being at to not bottleneck this. I am willing to try water cooling.

The crossfire does not discontinue scaling with additional GPUs, at least not to the extent the majority people would have you consider. The difficulty is that three 5770s are technique overkill for the majority games and turn out to be CPU or engine restricted. My suggestion is to sell the 5770s and get two 5870s, but I imagine four 5770s would work excellently in an eye affinity arrangement. I do not envy the outlet the entire this is plugged into, conversely.
