    120hz for 3d require 120fps

    Hi,
I was just gone through a thread which shows that if there is a need of 120hz LCD for 3d support on 60 frames then does that means, there is a need of 120 fps. What if the fps falls down below 100. Does this simply means that the graphic quality is reduces and cause a low 3D output. And the same gradually decreases your gaming out put also. What do you think about the same.

Well there is no need of a constant frame rate. There is actual no need of a continuous 120 fps to watch 3D on a 120Hz 3D monitor. So if you did not get a continuous 60 fps on your screen then you notice flickering of images. Usually there is no need to worry about the same. The frame monitors in today monitors run on their on and provides independent screen refresh rates.

That is right. The frame buffers independently refresh the screen rates to provide you great output. The scene normally stores the old frame buffers content till the comping swap. Both the sides L & R are swappers on a similar rate in this. So here there is not actually need of keeping an eye on the buffer rates of settings up such things. They work independently.

The monitor selection here plays a vital role. Like Acer GD245HQbid 3D LCD monitor. A 24 inch monitor with max resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 16:9 of aspect ration. It is a nice choice for 3D games.

Alienware has just introduced its first official 3D monitor the OptX AW23103D. It is available for 469 dollars. A bit costly but comes with 23-inch display which has a 1920x1080 pixels (full HD) response time (gray to gray) of 3 milliseconds. Its refresh rate is 120 Hz, which makes it compatible with NVIDIA 3D Vision. Its maximum brightness is 400 cd / m² and dynamic contrast ratio of 80 000:1. Its viewing angles are limited to 170 degrees horizontally and 160 degrees vertically.

There are various monitors available with 3D support. I will not say that they will give you a full 3D effect but to some extent. This depends also on the games which are made until today. Many of the games uses different units of scan. They find out the right distance between the eye direction which in result gives out a eye popping effects. There are various dedicated hardware work there.
