hello all,
I was using Samsung SyncMaster 903 S+ 17" CRT and was happy with it. I recently bought a LG 22" LCD Monitor TV (M237WA) which supports 1920*1080 resolution in exchange for my old CRT. Presently my max resolution is 1280*1024 in LCD, due to which the screen, fonts seem to be a bit hazy. Not that actually i'm having difficulty reading, it seems rather awkward to see or read text.
My System Specs:
Windows XP Pro, SP3, 512MB RAM
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 2800+
Motherboard: Giga-Byte GA-K8VM800M (Rev2.x); Chipset: VIA K8M800/K8N800 CE+VT8237(R);
GPU: Chipset: VIA/S3 UniChrome Pro IGP; Video Mem: 64MB DDR SDRAM; Chipname: UniChrome II Graphics; Chip ID/Graphics Dev ID: 3108; Video Bus: AGP 8x
Now my concerns are:
1. I'm not able to increase the screen resolution to 1920*1080 from my present 1280*1024
2. Do I need to buy another graphics card? If so, would it support my existing motherboard (backward compatible)?
3. What is meant by support for external AGP 8x/4x port?? Does it mean that I can have an external graphics card to the existing card???
4. Can i have two graphics at the same time on a single system?
5. In the second link under video/graphics section one of the solutions said that I can upgrade my BIOS and System Driver from the motherboard manufacturer?? At the same it says that my graphics card model doesnt support wide screen monitor??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The GPU is integrated into the motherboard, fyi.
