ATI HD3870 not detected by Windows.?!

I am trying to connect the ATI Radeon HD3870 to my system, but my windows are not able to detect it. I also tried to install the proper driver but in vain. Can any one solve this issue.?? I am using the Windows XP as my operating system. I don't think that Radeon HD3870 has any issue as it is new. So guide me accordingly.. Suggestion will be appreciable.

Many times the windows are not able to detect the Graphic Card, since it require more power supply. If you are having less than 450W of power supply then there are chances of this issue. I think upgrading the power supply will sort out this issue.

Can you see your graphic card in your Device Manager. If you are able to see the graphic card over there, then you have not installed the proper driver that is required for your graphic card (graphic card is working). If you are not able to see the graphic card, then try to configure the ATI HD3870 Graphic Card properly. After configuring it properly, install the updated drivers for the card of operating system Windows XP. Doing this your Window will detect the graphic card and you will able to use that normally.

Have you connected the power cable to your HD 3870 properly.?? There is a six pin power cable connected to your graphic card. After connecting that your fan of GPU should start working which means that card is getting the power. Maybe you have not connected the power cable properly, that's why Windows are failing to detect it.

Many times you can use the ATI Radeon HD3870 without installing ANY of the card's drivers (or catalyst). The ATI cards normally will run in a basic mode when the card-specific drivers aren't installed. You will get more information about that specific card in your Manual. If you need drivers to be installed then try installing the latest driver. Also if possible try to check the your graphic card in other system. Doing that will know that graphic card is working properly.

Even I think that the problem is coming because of inadequate power supply. Also try to unplug CD/DVD drive, case fan and extra hard drive/s to see if it works. I know that there are less chances but try doing this.
HD 3870 is a very efficient GPU in terms of power, due to low fabrication process, it takes maximum of 100W (GPU only) at full load, the power supply has to be good enough to provide the power. So you should be having good power supply.
Also try to clear CMOS and set it to default values.
