    Conexant CX25820/1 Express Media Bridge

I want the PCI-Express Media Bridge which should be integrated and very flexible multichannel video and audio designed for the computers. It should enable the two direction AV transfer to the host computer through the PCIe x1 interface. It should be customizable for various application programs. I am looking for the Conexant CX25820/1 chipset for this purpose. I am going on right path or not.

The PCI Express , officially called as PCIe or PCI-E is a computer expansion card used and manufactured to replace older PCI, PCI-X, and AGP standards in your computer systems. This is also known as The Peripheral Component Interconnect Express . It is the expansion cards that is available for the personal computers.PCI Express cards are used in the server and industrial applications for motherboard-level interconnect and as an expansion card interface for add-in boards. The difference between PCIe and the older cards was the buses topology, They were based on point-to-point serial links, and the newer are based on the shared parallel bus architecture.

Conexant’s CX25820 and CX25821 chipsets are highly integrated and flexible multi-channel video and audio PCI-Express Media Bridges specifically designed for PC-based security Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). The devices enable multiple bi-directional digital video and audio transfers to a host PC via a PCIe x1 interface. Both chipsets are easily customizable for a variety of applications and designs, and contain programmable logic to detect motion on incoming video streams allowing the devices to alert the host processor of motion via interrupts over PCIe.

Re: Conexant CX25820/1 Express Media Bridge

The CX25820/21 connects directly to Conexant’s CX25853 multi-channel video decoder to form a complete PC-DVR solution capable of capturing and bridging eight channels of real-time, full D1 video to the host with support for playback for two NTSC/PAL video channels from the host. This is the latest PCI express card available in the market for the computers. They will also supply the driver disc of this card to install the drivers so that it works properly in your computer system with the Operating System you are using.

    1-Surveillance-Specific Features
The CX25820/1 contains progamming for detecting the motion on incoming
BT.656/VIP2.0 streams. This program to detect motion for the incoming video
streams applys the CX25820/1 to quick response to the host processor of
    motion through interrupts over PCIe.

    2-Video Surveillance/Security Applications
The CX25820/1 can also able degrade the digital video format from the 4:2:2 format to
4:1:1,by reducing the bandwidth from 16 to the 12 bits per pixel and it also
permits the more uncompressed bit streams to forwarded over the PCIe bus.
