Why dont you download the latest drivers from nvidia official site for windows 7 or uninstall and reinstall the current drivers. It sounds like it's trying to run on a resolution where refresh rate which your monitor and/or graphics card can't handle. I cant help you on that as I have no idea how to set it in Safe Mode.

I downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia - They suck - Both the 32 and 64 bit versions cause crashes.

I've installed W7 32 bit and 64 bit on a Dell XPS M1330, and both OSs cause my machine to crash repeatedly - the geForce card/driver just don't play well with that combo - have written to nVidia and Dell about the problem - stay tuned...
