unsure Wide-screen/non Wide-screen for Graphics Development

One of my friends wants to purchase a 19" TFT monitor for Graphics Development.

So should he go for a Wide-screen monitor ?

Some are saying that for Graphics Development non Wide-screen is always better. Is that a truth or a myth ?

I don't think this makes any great difference whereas Graphic Development is concerned. What important is the aspect ratio.
If you know all about the aspect ration then I don't think widescreen or non widescreen will make any huge difference its your preference what you need?
I personally think wide screen is better than the normal screen for Gaming & surfing purpose.

Go for Acer 19" LCD Monitor. The image quality, contrast and brightness are perfectly blended for an optimum use. This monitor is recommended for graphic work. The colors and other text are perfectly balanced especially if you are using a DVI input. The monitor also has a very good preset for DVI connections. With great display quality and wide screen it an perfect solution.

Te screen will just show you what you want to. If you have a normal screen, you will have a square file, but if you have a wide screen, then it will not strech anything to make it rectangle and wide, but the screen resolution will be chosen for wide screen. Its nothing more then your imagination...

    Thanks for everyone's help !

Now I know that aspect-ratio is important when choosing a monitor.
