screen resolutions ratios for 22 inch monitor

Hello, I want to buy a 22" monitor, so can you guys please tell me which is the best 22 inch monitor? I was looking at the HP L2245wg 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor and found it really good. What do you guys think? And also please tell me what is the best screen resolutions ratios for 22 inch monitor? Thank you

If you have a monitor capable of displaying 1680x1050, choose the driver for Digital Flat Panel (1680x1050) rather than "Plug and Play Monitor".

The up-scaling of lower resolutions to fit the screen will either be a function of the screen itself, or there is an option in some graphics card drivers (usually when using DVI only) to do the scaling on the graphics card.

Check your Monitor's Manual for supported HorizSync, VertRefresh rates and Resolutions. Accept default options and enter correct HorizSync/VertiRefresh rates when prompted. Select supported resolutions from the list. Reboot machine.

What type of graphics card are you using?
Most graphics cards should work fine at a 1680 by 1050 res in Windows. However if you start to game at these higher resolutions you will need a more powerful graphics card, if you want to use any of the 'eye candy' etc in a newer game..

Wide-Screen Monitors have an aspect ratio of 16:10, not the standard 4:3. The 1680 x 1050 is a wide-screen ratio, and the picture wont be distorted or stretched.
